The search words are dentistry, oral health, oral diseasse, qualitative, qualitative method, and qualitative investigative. Data analysis is narrative in which we systematize the results of the selected articles.
Results: 36 articles are qualitative in the last five years. There is a very basic use of qualitative research in dentistry, focusing on clinical and descriptive observational research, which implies the existence of an investigative niche not addressed and therefore not understood scientifically.
Discussion: The qualitative evidence in dentistry is grouped in defined areas incorporating sociocultural variables collection techniques and interviews focused on traditional comparative analyzes.
