Abstract

Introduction: there are many factors that influence the success of a cosmetic treatment to a closure central diastema, due to many etiologies that cause the presence of this disease. One of this, traumatic avulsion of one central incisor constitute one of the aims and more complex problems to resolve.

Objective: to describe one case of central superior diastema closure to reestablished of aesthetics of a patient employing a nanocomposite as restorative material.

Case presentation: a superior central diastema closure was made as part of a treatment realized to a 25 year old male patient with soft mental retard and a history of dental traumatism with avulsion of right central incisor 1.1.

Conclusions: maxillary central diastema closure with nano-composite constitutes a therapeutic alternative that benefits the patient notably. Through a sequence of proposed steps that you/they offer numerous advantages in comparison to the one presented by other authors in similar cases, it was possible to solve in a single visit the aesthetic concern of a 25 year-old patient with slight mental delay, by means of an appropriate one diagnostic clinical and rigorous planning of the treatment.
