Abstract

Unbridled paranoia on the part of both patients and dentists in relation to HIV and hepatitis, overwhelms the population, as it begins to better understand these diseases and their transmission routes. Perhaps some people, within this profession, feel confused by a false sense of security and begin to believe that sterilization of all instruments may not be necessary. On the contrary, currently the entire patient population "expects" a total obedience to the recommendations of the agency, including the sterilization of all the instruments used for their care.
