Abstract

A bibliographic updating about the risk factors influencing on the appearance of dental caries, periodontopathies and dental malocclusion was made. The notion of epidemiologic risk is a function of the existance of the human beign, who lives in a social environment under permanent variation. The risk implies the possibility that a subject has (individual risk) to develop certain disease, an accident or a change in his health status in an specfic period and in a given community. A biref characterization of the dental caries disease, periodontopathies and malocclusions is presented in order to establish the preventive measures directed mainly to the cause of the disease since its origin, as well as to take the corresponding educative measures.
