Oral health status of the Cuban population, 1995
Abstract
A national epidemiological investigation was conducted in 1995 with the objective of analyzing the oral health status of the Cuban population. A sample of 3 805 people from 16 health areas, corresponding to 11 provinces, was analyzed; the model recommended by the WHO was used for this type of study; 6 stomatologists and their respective assistants were trained and calibrated. The data was processed on a computer using the EIPINFO program. The results were compared with the goals proposed by the WHO for the year 2000. It was observed that goals number 1, 2, 3 and 4 are fulfilled as planned, not sothe goal 5.
