Abstract

A research is carried out in 112 children with 6 and 7 years of age, to determine the influence on the immature permanent molars of the low potency laser radiation treatment, combined with a 2 % sodium fluoride solution. The children were grouped as for their sensitiveness to dental caries in temporary teething. The study was carried out in molar pairs; laser radiation was applied in one, and the other pain was taken as a control. The LASERMED I1im equipment, with ionic exchange parameters of 6 joules by square centimeter, was used for irradiation. The results show a decrease in the incidence of caries in molars treated with laser. This difference is mainly appreciated in susceptible children.
