An unpaired case-control analytical and observational study involving 400 people was conducted; 100 of them with premalignant and malignant lesions of the oral cavity (cases), diagnosed histopathologically in the period from January to June 1994, and the remaining 300 without lesions (controls). A questionnaire was applied to all of them by means of an individual interview to identify if there were some associated risk factors, and it was found that the use of dental prostheses dominated all the factors analyzed.Downloads
