Abstract

The works regarding the investigation, application, and expansion of digital acupuncture with therapeutic purposes in dental services ot the country, are described. The investigation carried out proved the efficiency of this technique in the treatment of the most frequent pains in patients who seek for dental care. The analgesic effect of acupuncture was evidenced in 97,9 % of patients who participated in the study considering the different degree of pain reduction established in the protocol. It is concluded that this is a simple, non-invasive technique requiring no special skills, with low cost and with an immediate analgesic action producing no side effects and providing a therapeutical alternative which use may be extended to the general population.
