Abstract

A review of the literature from the last 10 years is made taking into account the experimental and clinical investigations carried out about biologic effects of low intensity laser irradiation on tissue repair, as well as the possible mechanisms of action at cellular level in the production of collagen, the effect on collagen and elastic fibers, and blood vessels, its action on the regeneration of nerve fibers and the healing of bone tissue.
