Abstract

The aim of present paper is to propose a treatment methodology for Children
Maxillofacial Surgeons in primary multidisciplinary care for patients presenting with
cleft palate to unify the treatment criteria and to systematize the care to this type
of patient in our country. A bibliographic review in the Internet was carried out in
search of original articles approaching this subject matter founding that in some
health institutions in Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Brazil there are treatment
protocols for the multidisciplinary care of cleft palate.
