Abstract

A descriptive study of 107 patients, who had been surgically treated from salivary gland tumors in the Maxillofacial Surgery Department of "Manuel Ascunce Domenech" provincial teaching hospital located in Camagüey during 10 years, was performed to describe the sex and age distribution and frequency of these tumors, their biological behavior, anatomical location and histopathological outcome. It was observed that benign neoplasias predominated in the parotid glands whereas malignant processes developed more often in submandibular glands. Pleomorphic adenoma was the most found tumor among the benign neoplasias and mucoepidermoid carcinoma was the commonest among the malignant processes.
