Most frequent pulp and periapical pathologies in the emergency department in 2 stomatological clinics
Abstract
Pulpal and periapical pathologies are one of the diseases that most lead patients to go to an emergency dentistry due to their symptoms. It is of great importance to make a correct diagnosis at this time to provide the appropriate therapeutic. The frequency of these pathologies in emergency consultation was what motivated us to carry out this work, which had among its objectives to contribute to the knowledge of the most frequent pulp and periapical pathologies in the emergency department, to determine the most frequent acute pulp pathology according to groups of age, as well as acute periapical pathology. To perform the work, 70 patients from the Stomatological Clinics "Dr. Mario Pozo Ochoa" and "Manuel Angulo Farrán" were examined. It was observed that acute pathologies were those that presented the most, among them, hyperemia and acute alveolar abscess.Downloads
