Abstract

The capacity of a working instrument designed to evaluate the efficiency of the health actions practiced by the integral general stomatologist in the assigned families is tested. Its objectives are to reflect the health status of the population, find the risk factors that affect it, establish work strategies that ensure the improvement of health status and the reduction of risk factors, develop goals and periodically verify the efficiency of the strategies. This project is carried out in 200 individuals from 2 offices of the "Tomás Romay" polyclinic in Artemisa, taking as a source their family oral health histories. Among their results it is shown that the risk factors that decrease the most are the poor oral hygiene (from 17.3 to 5%) and the cariogenic diet (from 53.3 to 38.5%) in the population under 15 years old, and it is possible to increase in a greater percentage the healthy group (from 25.2 to 62.4%) and decrease the group of patients (from 56.6 to 19.6%). It is demonstrated that the instrument is capable of measuring and guiding the work of the integral general stomatologist.
