Frequency of oral disorders treated surgically
Abstract
A study of the patients treated surgically in the Teaching General Hospital "Aleida Fernández Chardiet" was carried out during the period from January 1995 to December 1997. A total of 1,006 patients constitute the universe of work. The information was obtained through the medical records and the data collection was performed from the operative and anatomopathological report. The data was recorded in a form prepared for this purpose. A higher percentage of incidence was observed in the female sex. The most frequent ages corresponded to the group of 15 to 29 years; predominated dental retention and alterations for prosthetic purposes in number of patients and surgical treatments performed; the frequency of patients and operations increased in non-hospitalized patients. It is suggested to carry out a study of the oral alterations and surgical treatments performed in the specialty of maxillofacial surgery.Downloads
