Manual of antimicrobial therapy in stomatology: Update topics
Abstract
We conducted an investigation based on the literature review and update of the use of antimicrobials in the most frequent stomatological conditions in our environment, and which demand the use of these drugs. We group the diseases according to the site of involvement in the cranio-cervical-facial system. The concept of the noxa is presented, some references of its etiopathogenesis, antimicrobial treatment of choice and alternative drugs, with doses, routes of administration and duration of treatment. Reference is made to the undesirable effects of antimicrobials in each disease treated. The microbiological composition of the oral flora and the updated classification, according to their biochemical structure, of the universally available antimicrobials are attached in the annexes. The revised bibliography is delimited in each proposed disease. We present the final report in a manual format to make it more feasible to use it as a means of consulting all the medical personnel that demand it.Downloads
