Historical sketch of the Cuban bibliography on stomatology
Abstract
The present work is about celebrating the 35th anniversary of the creation of the School of Stomatology, the events that will take place in the years 1999 and 2000, respectively. With the purpose of offering a modest contribution to the study of the history of the national bibliography of the specialty, a brief review is made of some of the scientific publications that came to light in Cuba during the 19th century, and which constitute the first manifestations of the eagerness of the Creole dentists to disclose the results of their investigations. For this purpose, the titles of the first published documents of the discipline are described and the magazines that gave birth to the specialized press on the island are detailed. Finally, the titles of dental periodicals produced during the 20th century, before the emergence of the Cuban Journal of Stomatology in 1964, are related according to their year of appearance.Downloads
