Abstract

Formocresol began to be used in pediatric dentistry in 1930 and years later its cytostatic effect on the pulp was demonstrated. Pulpotomies are performed with formocresol diluted in 25 temporary teeth, of which 14 had vital pulp and 11 non vital; 92.8% of positive results were obtained in the first and 72.7% in the second, after 1 year of evolution.
