Issue Presentation
Abstract
In this second issue of the 2016 Cuban Journal of Stomatology we present a range of articles that pay tribute to most of the specialties of the guild. We proceed to mention some of these contributions: "Complexity of endodontic treatment according to associated factors" of the doctors Lilian Toledo Reyes and Mireily Alfonso Carrazana, and "Pulp affections of non-infectious origin in dental organs with occlusal trauma" by Dr. Celia Elena Mendiburu Zavala and collaborators. These articles deal with issues related to endodontics, based on a very good clinical and epidemiological vision.
Of great interest for maxillofacial surgery, are the articles "Behavior of oral cancer in a population of a public hospital in Cartagena de Indias between 2007 and 2011" (Dr. Adel Alfonso Martínez Martínez and collaborators); "Ameloblastic fibrosarcoma arising in the mandible: case report" (Dr. Marcelo Marcucci and other authors); "Gingival giant cell fibroma of unusual size: a case report" (Dr. Carlos Augusto Galvão Barboza et al.), And "Mandibular reconstruction in a postoperative deformity due to trauma" (Dr. Denia Morales Navarro et al.). A varied iconography of rare cases is shown, with which we intend to contribute to the improvement of professional performance, and to the updating of our colleagues.
In the article "Socioeconomic profile of users and the reason for seeking a teaching clinic", Dr. Fabiana Barros Marinho Maia describes her findings; and from Mexico, Dr. Norma Samanta Romero Castro and her collaborators bring us a study on the "Prevalence of gingivitis and associated factors in students of the Autonomous University of Guerrero".
All authors urge us from their reflections to try to ensure the quality of life of our patients in our field, and in all circumstances.
